The duo of Simon Watts and Glenn Skarratt bring the sounds of violin, acoustic guitar, mandolin and Bodhran to the Jenolan Caves with a lively and dynamic fusion of Celtic, Jazz, Latin, Blues and Folk music. From the soulful and mystical tones evocative of the beautiful caves themselves to the infectious rhythms of Ireland and South America, bursting with passion and energy, this concert is music for the senses and for the soul, to inspire, uplift and fill the caves with sound to match their beauty.

Glenn Skarratt is a versatile multi-instrumentalist featuring finger style and flat-picking acoustic guitar as well as mandolin. Classically trained, he has a love of all things acoustic playing anything that comes his way from rock, blues and jazz to Latin and folk.

Simon Watts' lifetime love of both Celtic and Classical music has helped make him a favourite with audiences from Perth to Auckland. He is a breathtakingly polished and exuberant musical spirit, twice awarded the Most Outstanding Instrumentalist in Tamworth and was a 2009 finalist in the Golden Fiddle Awards with a composition from his CD "The Weeping Tree Paddock".

The duo love to improvise and go with the mood of the moment and with their mutual fascination for the caves and the Blue Mountains in general this promises to be an unforgettable experience for all.

The concert will take around 2 hours. This includes getting to the Cathedral Chamber (252 stair steps), the concert itself, followed by a brief tour of the rest of the Lucas cave.

You can choose to do a brief tour (total of 910 steps) which is designed to enable you see all the sections of the cave, in less time than the usual tour. Or if you wish to avoid most of the steps, you can leave the Lucas Cave the same way you entered, without taking the tour.
