The Lucas is our most visited cave, and can hold very large groups.  It is home to the most photographed limestone formation at Jenolan, the Broken Column and displays a wide range of huge cave formations. If you have time to visit only one cave, the Lucas is one of our most amazing, offering you both the highest and widest chambers plus a glimpse of the pure underground river. The highest chamber is the Cathedral (54 metres) - scene of many weddings and underground concerts. Believe it or not, this chamber has arguably the best acoustics of any performance space in the world.

Fitness level: harder  - There are several flights of stairs to gain access to the Lucas cave.  But once inside, the path becomes less strenuous.  There are many rest stops, so you can enjoy the fantastic sights. The Lucas is a wonderful, memorable experience for most adults and children.  However, if you have health or mobility issues, we recommend you view the beautiful (and easier) Imperial Cave.
